Meet the Coaches

Ashton Hueni

I fell in love with cheerleading at a young age when my mom was coaching cheer, and I got to tag along for practices. I cheered all throughout school and especially enjoyed leading the K-5 cheer camps as a high school student. While in college, I started coaching at Bremen High School and was the head coach there for 12 years. So many great memories in my life involve cheer.

I love that the Junior Cheer program allows young athletes to try out cheerleading at a rec league level. With the hope that it instills a desire to continue to cheer on our Bremen Lions!!

I reside in Bremen with my husband, Josh, and our 3 active children. I love Jesus, Coke Zero, and spending time with my family and friends. A few mornings a week, I teach pre-k at COB preschool and love being a part of the wonderful Bremen community.

Growing up, I was always an active kid, playing basketball, softball, and cheering. Once I got into high school, I stopped playing basketball to pursue my passion for cheering! Fun fact: Coach Ashton was my coach! Pursuing cheerleading and softball in my high school career was my highlight of high school! From cheering on the sidelines to stunting to the lasting relationships I built. I learned so much about life (accountability, leadership, dedication, etc.). While in high school, I started volunteering to help with middle school cheer at Bremen! After graduating in 2021, I attended Indiana University while still coaching. At this time, I was also coaching softball and on the softball board. In early 2022, an opportunity arose to coach high school cheer! Since 2024, I have been a coach for junior cheerleading!

I currently reside in Bremen with my boyfriend, Braden, and my dog, Ellie! I love to go kayaking, go to the beach, and I also still play softball! Professionally, I work with Ace Underground Services installing Fiber!

Kelsey Nash

I am a dedicated homeschool mom with a lifelong passion for mentoring and developing youth.

My cheer journey began in elementary school and continued through high school and competitive cheer, giving me a strong foundation in both skill and discipline.

I began coaching as a teenager through Upward Cheer and have continued coaching various sports over the years.

Coaching is more than routines and stunts to me- it’s about building confidence, teamwork, and character. One of my greatest joys is watching shy voices grow into fearless leaders, both on and off the mat.

I joined the Bremen Jr. Cheer coaching team in 2025 and have truly found a passion for working with young relationships with the kids and watching their confidence, skills, and teamwork grow throughout the season.
As a proud cheer mom of three girls in the program, my coaching journey began on the sidelines. With years of experience supporting both Jr. Cheer and competitive cheer. I’ve fully embraced the cheer lifestyle and the dedication it requires. Being so closely involved has given me a deep appreciation for the sport and a strong desire to give back to the program that has meant so much to my family. Coaching allows me to combine my enthusiasm for cheer with my commitment to helping kids succeed- not just in performance, but in confidence, discipline, and teamwork. I am continually learning and growing alongside the athletes, and am excited to keep developing as a coach. I look forward to many seasons ahead, helping inspire a love for cheer while creating a positive, encouraging environment where every athlete can thrive.
